Location Choice

I chose to use Kingswood bank as one of my locations as it is quite deserted. It has tree’s at one side which I can use for shots that required the actor to hide behind something, to add a mysterious feel to the shot. I also chose a graveyard because it is eerie and fits with the story line about murder and loss. I also chose the graveyard as that way I don’t have to just stick to one graveyard and can use several different ones and put little clips of each together. I would like to use Brantingham Forrest as well because it has open sections in the wood, this would be good for doing the dead bodies shots. A forrest is also a convention place to burry a dead body so fits in with the horror genre.

Current progress

We are currently in the proccess of filming. We have completed our screen play and shooting schedule which are yet to be scanned in.We have done roughly half our scene's and have bought all of our props. However as we have only filmed half our scene's it means that we are behind with our deadline.

Music video Analysis

The Prodigy - 'Breathe'

In the video ‘Breathe’ by the prodigy do not start off with an establishing shot of where the video is set, the shows short shots of all the artists in the video. This video is set in a run down, damp looking room.  The walls are bare and have been written on. It reminds me of a prison cell the way it’s all run down and bare.  The video shows shots in three different rooms. The first room completely empty with two windows, the next room with a lamp and a chair, and the other room with a book case and table. So the scenery is very plain and dull. They may have done this to keep the attention on the artists and not on the setting. The artists are dressed in a bizarre and strange way. They have tattoos and piercings, dress in leather, and wear studs and chains. This allows them to fit the punk stereotype although I would not say that ‘breathe’ is a punk song. They dress like this to add to the music video. It makes it seem stranger and slightly scary. They also use fast flashing lighting which goes in time with the beat in this video as well as under lighting to make the artists seem more freaky and strange looking. The lighting also causes lots of different shadows and the shots change very quickly, each lasting about 4 seconds, this makes you feel disorientated. Some of the artists have tribal type markings on their faces and their bodies.  This goes against the punk theme of the music video but adds to the strangeness of it.  The music video involves the artists jumping around a lot and making strange and weird faces. They also use bugs and animals in this music video. At the begging they show shots of rats and cockroaches which shows that the house is old and rotten as it attracts vermin and bugs.

Music Video Audacity Track Edited (Sample)

Here is the music track we have created for our music video.
It is effective as it has different elements of horror in it. We asked our audience to see if the music track was effective on a scale of 1 - 10, the number of people we asked was 20.
Here is the uploaded track that we have made available on youtube. This soundtrack will be the track used for our music video.
